Lara Weaver, LSW

 Lara is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Pennsylvania, supervised by Kurt W. Oster, LICSW-S, LCSW, QS, BCD, RPT™, RST™. She earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Boston College, with a specialization in Trauma. In her practice, Lara uses techniques such as play therapy, sand tray therapy, CBT, expressive art therapy, bibliotherapy, and mindfulness practices. She works mainly with clients aged 5 to 18 and their families.

Lara has two years of experience working in schools with vulnerable populations, both in Philadelphia and Boston. Within the school environment, Lara uses strength-based approaches to help children make positive changes in their lives, enabling them to succeed both inside and outside of school. She has experience leading group lessons in mindfulness, conflict resolution, stress management, and other related topics. Lara also facilitates mediations between students and provides individual therapeutic support in and outside the classroom. She is working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist to better serve children in both school-based and outpatient settings.
